Regular School Board Meetings are generally held on Wednesdays and members of the public are welcome to attend.
Board meetings are held at the John Stanford Center for Educational Excellence, live streamed on SPSTV and broadcast on television on Comcast 26 (standard-def) and 319 (hi-def), Wave 26 (standard-def) and 695 (hi-def), and Century Link 8008 (standard-def) and 8508 (hi-def).
Meeting agendas and relevant materials are posted at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled meeting.
During Regular Board Meetings, the Board takes public testimony. Public testimony will be taken in person and by teleconference from those who sign up to provide testimony and who are placed on the testimony list.
To sign up for public testimony, members of the public should use the public testimony sign-up form on the day and time indicated on the relevant agenda (usually 8 a.m. on the Monday before the meeting) and no later than noon on the scheduled day of the meeting.

The Seattle Special Education PTSA, in partnership with All Youth Belong, The Arc of King County, Roots of Inclusion, The Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), Seattle Council PTSA, and El Centro de la Raza is proud to welcome back Dr. Ross Greene to introduce his new book, The Kids Who Aren't Okay. Together, we'll explore how Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS)—a trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, and state-endorsed approach—equips educators, families, and students to build schools where every child can thrive and strengthens the culture and partnerships that make lasting change possible.
All are welcome—Families, educators, school leaders, and district staff.

Black History is for Everyone
Educator Brian Jones, in conversation with Rethinking Schools editor Jesse Hagopian, will discuss his latest book Black History Is for Everyone, a look at how the study of Black history challenges our understanding of race, nation, and the stories we tell about who we are.
Brian Jones is the inaugural director of the Center for Educators and Schools of the New York Public Library, and formerly the associate director of Education at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture. Jones was an elementary school teacher for nine years and earned a PhD in Urban Education at the CUNY Graduate Center. He has contributed to numerous publications, including Black Lives Matter at School: An Uprising for Educational Justice and is the author of The Tuskegee Student Uprising: A History.
