Welcome

Seattle Council PTSA represents over 80 PTAs and PTSAs in Seattle Public Schools. Centering the voices of those furthest from educational justice, we support, inform, and advocate for and with school communities all over Seattle.

Our first general meeting with Seattle’s Superintendent Denise Juneau, June 2018

Our Board

The volunteer SCPTSA board is composed of parent leaders from every part of the city. Our executive board is elected by general membership every year and the board of directors is filled out by appointment of the President and confirmation of the board. The board meets once a month for SCPTSA business, and once a month with the Superintendent of Seattle Public Schools, in addition to offering support at local unit meetings and advocating on behalf of SPS students with school district, city, and state officials.

Meet Our Board

PTA's mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.

Our Programs

SCPTSA provides grant funding to local PTAs and PTSAs for leadership development, arts, and translation and interpretation for membership.

SCPTSA participates in National PTA’s Reflections program, providing an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works in a city, state, and nation-wide arts competition.

National PTA’s School of Excellence recognition program supports and celebrates partnerships between PTAs and schools to enrich the educational experience and overall well-being for all students.
